DISCLAIMER
I am not a professional counselor. I WILL NOT be offering any counseling advice in this group.
Please note that this group does not replace the need for professional counseling, but, it may help you to sort out your thoughts and feelings, so that you can determine whether or not you need to seek professional help.
MY ROLE IN LEADING THIS GROUP IS TWOFOLD
1. to help women who have been sexually abused take a look at the inner workings of the various dynamics of the damage done to their hearts and souls resulting from past sexual abuse.
2. to help women obtain a clearer picture of the damage which is perceived in the things they put into place to survive and the way they relate to God and others, thus enabling them in making more conscious, godly decisions in dealing with daily issues pertaining to others and themselves.
MY PLAN TO CARE FOR PARTICIPANTS INCLUDES:
A. providing them with a safe, non-judgmental place to speak about the things pertaining to the abuse that they have kept hidden in their hearts and were too frightened or, ashamed to voice any place else.
B. helping them to see through the use of the Wounded Heart Book and interactive discussions, that they are not unclean, impure, tainted, or marked but, that they are worthy of being loved, wanted, desired and cherished, just as God intended them to be from the beginning of time.
C. assisting them to identify the lies of the enemy; enabling them to claim their true identities in Christ thus taking back what was stolen by, learning how to position themselves with an attitude that says, “I am not going to accept the life I have now as being all there is, I want more.”
D. helping them to understand the need to forgive those who have done, or taken away something from them, not because the abusers deserve it, but because God requires His children to forgive if they want to be forgiven and vengeance must be left to Him.
E. providing an environment to explore and identify the damage done to their souls by the abuse BUT, most importantly, helping them see that there is hope and life, after the damage have been revealed, and, brought into the light.
F. providing an environment to explore those questions like “Where was God?” “Why did He not stop the abuse?’ without feeling that you are dishonoring God.
MY MISSION PERTAINING TO THE WOUNDED HEART GROUP
In 2007 God outlined my mission (Isaiah 61:1). He said:
My child,
“The Spirit of the Lord God is upon you, He has anointed and qualified you to preach the Gospel of good tidings to the meek, the poor, and afflicted; He is sending you to bind up and heal the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and, the opening of the prison, and, of the eyes to those who are bound. “
My mission – my prayer
FATHER
I will continue to facilitate the wounded heart group as an act of obedience to You. I will not allow my perception of what I see, perceive, feel or hear from others deter me from my mission to serve You and to step into the calling you have on my life. Lord when I get frustrated, sad or side-tracked by negative thoughts that comes upon me, when I allow feelings to get into the way, please remind me of the many times you carried me and the reason I am doing this.. In Jesus name, Amen
